Calling this page “What I Built” makes me a little uncomfortable.

My instinct is to soften it—to share the credit, downplay the accomplishment, and make sure I don’t sound too proud.

But I am proud.

I built this.

I took ideas I believed in and turned them into a therapy practice, a coaching business, a suicide prevention nonprofit, and a book—with the help of incredible people along the way.

Women are often taught, subtly and explicitly, to make ourselves smaller. To temper our ambition, qualify our accomplishments, and be careful not to take up too much space.

I don’t want to do that here.

I can be deeply grateful for the people who helped build these things and proud that I had the courage to begin them.

So this page is my practice in taking up a little more space—and celebrating what can happen when women trust their ideas, lead with their values, and build things that matter. Hopefully the more we practice saying that about ourselves, the easier it becomes to celebrate it in one another.

First came Conscious Healing Counseling.

Among my own healing, I had a dream to create an army of people who could show up for others when they needed it most. Lead by the values of Community, Connection, and Serving, this is where suicide prevention began.

What started out as myself and a few others has grown to nearly 50 therapists, three locations, many community collaborations, and a medication prescriber. This team has made a huge impact and they carry the mission daily.

Then, The Justin Center for Transformation and Healing was created

I wasn’t ready to create this for a long time, a space honoring Justin, diving even deeper into the mission of suicide prevention. I realized through my own pain that there are not enough supports for those who lose a loved one to suicide. So, we got a space where we can provide suicide prevention resources while also tending to post-vention supports.

If you or someone you know needs support after losing a loved one to suicide, are interested in a suicide prevention training, or would like to donate to the Justin Center, check out our website here.

Next, Conscious Insights Coaching arrived.

The more I grew in each position, the more I wanted to share what I was learning. I’m passionate about leading with values, ensuring that everyone is seen, and doing things differently. I want to spread that so everyone can live into their giftings.
