Most people who know Jamie would probably use two words to describle him; "HARD WORK".  For the majority of the past fifteen years Jamie has worked two jobs in order to provide for his family and create opportunities that would otherwise be impossible.  Hired as a dispatcher for the Kentucky State Police in 1994 Jamie has served the Commonwealth by assisting thousands of needy citizens and keeping emergency responders safe throughout our state.  As a dispatcher Jamie has been decorated with every award available to civilian employees and was named an Honorary Trooper in 2003 for worked performed on behalf of the agency at the Teenage Safe Drivng Program.  In 2007 Jamie left the Kentucky State Police when he was offered the postion of State Law Enforcement Instructor for the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training.  For the past two years Jamie dedicated himself to improving officer and public safety by training police officers and dispatchers from all across the Commonwealth.  In his first year of employment at the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training Jamie recieved the Teamwork award from Commissioner John Bizzack for his efforts as an instructor on the High Ropes Challenge Course where many S.W.A.T. teams and supervisor academy students are trained in team building skills.  Jamie is the only candidate for Laurel Co. Jailer who is a state certified law enforcement instructor and recently completed over 80 hours of training in suicidal crisis intervention, hostage negotiation, and jail riot situations.  Jamie has over 1500 combined hours of training and class room instruction.

Few people can honestly say they have lived their dream, Jamie is one of those who can.  Through desire, dedication, hard work, and a vision Jamie started doing signs out of his spare bedroom in hopes of raising enough funds to pursue his dream of competing as a driver in the big leagues of Nascar.  After years of working and saving Jamie purchased a car and called upon an all volunteer pit crew of law enforcement officers to assist in this huge undertaking.  The group made their ARCA/Remax Series racing debut in July of 2002 at the Kentucky Speedway and would follow up with five more starts at super speedways throughout the U.S.  Always believing that hard work pays off Jamie finally was given the chance to compete in the Nascar Busch Series in June 2003 at Nashville Super Speedway.  Driving for an unsponsored, underfunded team Jamie rewarded the group with their best finish of the year and continued his Nascar driving career through 2008 competing on a limited schedule in both the Nascar Busch Series and Camping World Truck Series.

Character, Integrity, Loyalty, and Compassion are just a few words that describe Jamie.  Making a difference in other people's lives is not something that came with a political campaign for Jamie.  During his adult life Jamie has worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Tubby Smith Foundation which continues to benefit charities all across the Commonwealth.  Through his sign business Jamie has donated signs to many parent-teacher associations, school groups, and civic organizations in support of many wothy causes.
